Here is an original 1962 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone , serial number 100,165 with approximately 70% of its original lacquer..
These European market Selmers would commonly be sold without engraving and features the more orange/amber colored finish that was done in Canada. This instrument belonged to an active player since the early 1980's, and as such shows the wear of a 60 year old instrument.
This instrument is tight and mechanically fast, light and stable. It has just received a professional overhaul in September 2021, in which all body, neck and solder work was addressed with the overhaul.
This particular Selmer plays with the deep rich, full bodied tone you would expect from a five digit Mark VI with the added sizzle and slight edge of a 60's Selmer. For this reason, this is one of our favorite serial ranges for Mark VI tenors.
The price reflects the condition, wear and region of assembly. Act quick on this incredible deal. Horn includes a Berkeley of London gig case and is performance ready.
