Berg Larsen Tenor (1940's) Duckbill 95 SMS, original cap and ligature
Here is an original 1940’s Berg Larsen ‘duckbill’ stainless steel tenor mouthpiece. It is stamped 95 SMS. includes the original brass cap and ligature.
This is an early example before they started designating chamber/baffle configurations and is finished wonderfully as many of these early gems were. This was the preferred size of famous Berg player, Yusef Lateef. These are a great match for horns of the same era and play well with nice, warm air for a big sound that projects easily and doesn’t take as much effort as the larger chamber designs of the time.
