Tone Edge Florida/Early Babbitt Transitional Blank 7 Original
Here is an original 1970's Otto Link "Tone Edge" 7 tenor mouthpiece. This piece measures .098" on my gauge.
This piece is in incredible original condition, stamped 7 on the right side of the table. This is the small USA stamped version with the very pronounced baffle, straight signature on the barrel, denim marks on the facing and the longer beak shape. The shank shows some beautiful patina that is appropriate for high quality vintage hard rubber.
This generation of Tone Edge came in Elkhart boxes as they are likely from the transitional period during the move from Florida to Indiana.
The facing length overall is shorter on this piece and there are some flea bite dings in the tip. Otherwise, it is in incredible original shape. It is getting harder and harder to find these in desirable tip openings unaltered these days.
