Here is a rare, original condition 1940's Selmer "Table C" tenor mouthpiece. This mouthpiece measures .063" on my gauge.
These first generation metal Selmer mouthpieces are about as beautiful as they come. Elaborate decoration on the shank, unique fluting on the sides and a squeeze chamber that was futuristic compared to the very large chambers being made in the U.S.
This would be a nice mouthpiece for a collector looking to match original equipment but also in a modern context even at the smaller size for contemporary classical music. Players wanting this opened can expect it to go up to as much as an 'E' or 'F' without compromising the spirit of the design.
