Brilhart Tenor (1960's) Ebolin 3 with Box
Here is a vintage 1960’s Brilhart “Ebolin” 3 tenor with original blue box with matching serial. This piece measures .065” on my gauge.
The story of popular American music from the 1930’s to the 1950’s would be incomplete without the woodwind sounds played on the many well made and innovative products produced by Arnold Brilhart. This design was so versatile that it was used by as many different players as you could imagine from Gene Ammons, to John Coltrane in the 60’s, or on alto from Benny Carter to Maceo Parker.
The Ebolin chamber and material make it the ‘punchier’ brother to the Tonalin which was a bit deeper inside and made from a softer material. This example is in excellent condition and comes with the original box. This is a piece of American history that also is fun to play on. These also make very good candidates to open up as they play well at a variety of tip openings.
