Here is an original condition DG Traditional Bebop Silver alto. It is engraved "DG TBA 768". This mouthpiece measures .082" on my guage.
This is a 3 digit era handmade Guardala that was bought in the late 1980's and kept by the original owner until now. There is some plating loss on the body and a bit on the table and rails but still measues evenly from side to side and is in excellent playing condition.
There was a lot of variation with the handmade models especially within the 'Traditional" group of blanks that were hand finished after being manually machined. This piece features a long shelf baffle that opens into a fairly deep chamber.
This is an excellent choice for the alto player looking for the traditional sound but with more cut and power.
