Here is a vintage, late 1970's Early Babbitt Tone Edge tenor from the collection of Canadian saxophonist, Kirk MacDonald. This particular was sent to legendary craftsman Jon Van Wie and opened to .110" on my gauge, which is an Otto Link 8.

This piece features a heavy clamshell style baffle expertly shaped to stay high for about 1/2" with a nice almost radial curve that Jon was known for.  It has the steep beak from this period and as shown, no number stamped inside. 70's Links with JVW's work don't show up very often and this one is ready to be played.
