Otto Link Tenor (2000's) Rare OLEB stamp Early Babbitt
Here is an original and untouched Otto Link Tone Edge made from a true ‘early Babbitt” shell and core. This piece measures 98 on my gauge.
This particular piece is a bit of an anomaly. It is a genuine, factory made piece from the same tooling as the late 70’s Links that were molded and finished in Elkhart, IN. However it has an unusual double stamp on the body that spells “OLEB” over the Tone Edge decoration. This is the slim body, small USA version with a tighter core, healthy amount of baffle although not the typical flat/clamshell shape that is associated with the true vintage counterpart. It appears this was an ‘under the table’ product that may or may not have been officially sanctioned at the Babbitt factory as no info was available from them.
