Selmer Soprano (1970's) "Soloist" D
Here is an original Selmer “Soloist’ D soprano mouthpiece. This mouthpiece measures .050” on my gauge.
The Soloist design is probably the most copied vintage design out there and this piece has all the features that made this model so famous. Soloist sopranos have a modest rollover at the tip, nice wide tip rail to attenuate upper partials, and a tight squeeze chamber. The end result is a flexible and stable design suitable for a variety of styles of playing.
This is a later model Soloist and has the narrowest throat of the series.
