Here is an original Miami era Dukoff D7 tenor mouthpiece. This piece measures .099" on my gauge.
This piece comes from the collection of Canadian saxophonist Kirk MacDonald. Kirk used this for a number of years in the early 1980's and shows the appropriate wear.
These mouthpieces were made from a proprietary material with the trade name 'Silverite' which is very very soft. As such, there is an obvious dent near the bite plate cutout but the facing curve and tip opening show that it in no way affected the facing schedule or the tip size. For those who are technical, it measures .098" at each corner of the tip showing that it is still in balance.
This is a good choice to get a classic design that was used by a world class professional with only cosmetic flaws.
